For me, the journey of creation begins from being in the environment. I live my life through my senses. I see, I feel, I experience. I try to be in the moment. This is what has made me an amazing educator. Now, this is what I put on the canvas.
What does the sun feel like on my skin? What sounds do I hear? What do I smell? I touch a wall, a wooden door, I bend to touch the ground, pick up a stone and rub it between my fingers.
I hear the laughter, waves on the shore, a faucet dripping. I drink the coffee, eat the Jamon, taste the warm bread. I try to gain insight into my surroundings. These physical tags stored in my body, my cells, are called to use as paint is applied to the canvas in front of me.
